Top 10 Fat Loss Myths Of All Time

Every woman dreams to have a perfect and healthy body. But unfortunately, by blindly following some advice or some "common knowledge" from somewhere could stop you from reaching your goals. It's time to pay attention to the following 10 myths about fat loss. Remove your wrong beliefs and get onto the right way.

Myth 1: I lose fat by cutting largely on calorie consumption.

When we eat too few, our body detects it as starvation. Instead of losing fat, it slows down our metabolism rate and hold onto our fat as main energy source. For more efficient fat loss, women should consume 1,200 1,500 calories per day and divide them into five or six meals.

Myth 2: I lose weight by not eating after 8 pm.

Normally people tend to eat more at night, especially when they skip meals at daytime. Successful weight loss depends on what you eat, not when you eat. You should choose carefully what you eat after 8 pm, for example, a light salad meal or a glass of protein shake with some fruit.

Myth 3: All calorie is the same

There are good and bad carbohydrates. Bad carbohydrates such as, refined sugar, could be easily digested, absorbed and then stored as fat. On the contrary, food with good carbohydrates, for example, in fruits, vegetables and whole grains, help slowing down digestion and controlling blood sugar level. This gives the body more time to burn the calorie before turning into fat.

Myth 4: Strength exercise can just bulk me up

Many women avoid strength exercise because they believe those exercise cannot help them lose fat, but only bulk them up. In fact, those exercises increase your sleeping metabolic rate, i.e. you burn more calorie at night.

Myth 5: My body is biologically pre-determined. Fitness training is useless.

Genetics does play a role in your body formation, but you still need to maintain a healthy life style by exercising as well as eating wise and well.

Myth 6: I can eat whatever I want, as long as I exercise regularly

Women tend to reward themselves by eating much more than they expected after a yoga class or a fitness session. In this way, they gain weight instead of losing them, even though they do exercise regularly.

Myth 7: Ab exercises give me a flat belly

Training yourself with a lot of ab exercises can strengthen different muscles in your belly, but won't make your belly fat-free magically. You also have to maintain a diet which is low in refined carbohydrates and full of proteins, fruits and vegetables.

Myth 8: Doing Squats will make my bottom big

Your bottom gets big because you sit nearly all the day in the office and in front of computers. In fact, squats help to lift, firm and strengthen your bottom.

Myth 9: Diet soda won't be a problem

Advertisements claim that “diet ones are free of sugar”. But they are full of artificial sweeteners, which will make you eat more. A glass of water is always a good choice for fat loss.

Myth 10: Women will be fatter when they are older

When you age, it is harder to lose weight. But keeping on fitness exercises and taking care of what you eat, for example, skipping refined carbohydrates will keep your body slim as time goes by.
